Zion Lutheran Church is a member of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod

My name is Colett Dominowski. I am the School Administrator at Zion. I am a graduate of Alma College with a degree in Business Administration and worked on my Early Childhood education at Delta College. I have been a member at Zion since 2006. My true pride and joy are my family; husband-Mike, sons- Tyler & Andrew, and daughter-Molly. My children all attend Zion Lutheran School. I love spending time with my family, camping, hunting, fishing, and just being outdoors. It's wonderful to see God's love spread through Zion's students and staff each year as we grow and learn together.

My name is Pastor Andrew Menz and I am the Senior Administrative Pastor at Zion. My biggest joys in ministry are preaching, teaching, visiting members, and serving in a Lutheran school environment. I grew up in Cadillac, Michigan and attended Concordia University, Ann Arbor. After graduating in 2004, I married my better half, Emily. We then moved to St. Louis Missouri where I studied at Concordia Seminary. My first congregation was in Coloma, Michigan where I served from 2008 until 2017. Emily and I have been blessed with three children, Henry, Lillian, and Madelyn. Henry and Lilly both attend Zion Lutheran. When not serving the people of Zion, I enjoy spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, playing disc golf, skiing, and simply spending time with my family in God's wonderful creation.

My name is Pastor Seth Hemme and I have been serving as the Associate Pastor of Discipleship at Zion since 2010. I am involved with many things at Zion, including preaching, teaching, visitation, and working with the youth of the congregation. It is great to share God's love in Jesus with the people here at Zion. I grew up near St. Louis, Missouri and attended college at Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois. I went to Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, and was placed at a congregation in the Detroit area after graduation in 2004. There I met my wife Patty, who was a teacher at the Lutheran school of the congregation. We are blessed with two children, Hannah and Matthew. My wife teaches Science and Algebra at Zion. I love learning about new things, reading, and enjoy spending time with my family.

My name is Bonnie Jammer. Since my graduation from Concordia Teachers College in 1979 I have taught 1-2nd grade at Trinity Lutheran, Manistee and 3rd grade at Immanuel, Bay City, and in 1990 was blessed to "come home" to teach at Zion, the congregation where I was born and raised. I love being able to share the love of our wonderful God at the school where I too heard of God's plan of salvation and experienced His Love for me. I am thankful to be able to teach at a Lutheran school and be close to my parents, sisters, nephew, and niece, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. My interest in family history has led to a hobby in genealogy.

Hello my name is Mary Ann Woods and I am the 7th and 8th grade Language Arts teacher. I grew up in Owatonna, Minnesota and a graduate of Wartburg College, Waverly, Iowa. I have a Masters in Classroom teaching and a Masters in Counseling from CMU; LPC. I have taught in public and parochial school in Ohio, California, Mississippi, and Michigan. My children Wesley and Wendalyn graduated from St. John Lutheran in Midland. I am a proud grandparent of three wonderful grandchildren; Dominic, Morgan, and Waden. I absolutely think the staff, students, and mission of Zion Lutheran are superior and they give me confidence America is in good hands. The love of our Savior is foremost in our hearts and we are gratefully serving Him here at Zion Beaver.

My name is Julie List. I am one of the part-time 7/8 grade teachers and the K-8 art teacher. I love painting, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. I have been blessed with such a loving family. My greatest joy while teaching, is sharing God's love with the students and staff at Zion. I enjoy the creativity of my students in art.

My name is Patty Hemme and I am the 7/8th grade science and algebra teacher at Zion Lutheran. I graduated from the University of Michigan with my BA in Elementary Education in 2002. In 2011 I received my MS in Science Education, also from U of M. I have a passion for teaching and strive to go above and beyond for my students. I work very hard to make sure they are receiving the very best education possible. My science classroom is full of hands on experiences that really help the students understand the content they are being taught. I want my students to have a lot of fun while they are learning. Teaching in a Lutheran school also gives me the wonderful opportunity to not only teach the subjects I love, but also to share the word of God with my students. This is truly a blessing for me. When I am not in the classroom, I love spending time with my wonderful husband and 2 beautiful children Hannah and Matthew. My husband is Pastor Hemme, the Associate Pastor here at Zion. In my spare time I love doing fun things with my children, running, and playing volleyball.

My name is Emily Menz. I teach Language Arts in 5th and 6th grades. I graduated from the University of Michigan in 2004 with a degree in English and Spanish and completed a Masters in Education from Grand Valley State University in 2012. I have been a full time middle school Spanish teacher followed by four years as an adjunct instructor in the English department at Kalamazoo Valley Community College focusing on reading comprehension improvement and study skills. I am passionate about literature and learning and believe that the critical thinking and communication skills that are developed through Language Arts instruction are essential to one's personal success in life. I love working at Zion to support our students both academically and spiritually as they grow in their abilities and strengthen their identity in Christ.

I'm Angela Riske and I am thrilled to be teaching Kindergarten at Zion, where I attended school from K-8th grade. I'm so happy to be home after spending the first two years of my teaching career teaching 1st grade in Lumberton, NC and the last ten years in Orange Park, FL teaching Kindergarten. I love spending time with my family and friends, shopping, playing pinochle and marbles, reading, and traveling. The best part of teaching at Zion is knowing the staff and I are able to share our faith and love for the Lord freely and teach these young minds to love and trust in Him daily.

My name is Kayla Panzner. I am so excited to be a part of the Zion team! Throughout my life God has been teaching me to trust Him in His perfect timing and plans for me. This has brought me to Zion where I am blessed with the opportunity to be a part time 2nd and 4th grade Reading and Math Teacher. I have a great passion for teaching and I work hard to engage students in learning through high-energy and hands on lessons. I am a Saginaw Valley State University grad where I received by Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. I am planning to continue on to finish my graduate degree in the near future, but I'm just taking some time right now to enjoy my two little ones as they are growing way too fast. When I am not teaching, I enjoy creating Pinterest-inspired crafts, reading, shopping at Hobby Lobby and camping with my husband, Daniel, and our two kids, Connor and Olivia. I look forward to a great school year teaching and sharing God's Love with our students here at Zion.

My name is Samantha Schnell,I graduated from Saginaw Valley State University in 2012 with an Elementary Education degree and an endorsement in Early Childhood Special Education. I taught in different early childhood and special education placements for a few years before I made the jump to third and fourth grade at Zion in 2019. My husband, Matt, and I joined Zion Church in 2017. We are incredibly grateful to be a part of the school and church community here. More importantly, we are blessed to raise our children, Genevieve, Ainsley, and Lincoln here for years to come. Besides spending time with my family and teaching, I love being outdoors, farming, gardening, and baking.

Hi, I am Cherie Whalen. I have two boys with one still attending Valley Lutheran High School. You may find me at various activities around the school.  I truly enjoy working at Zion with the students and find it very rewarding watching the students grow in Christ here at Zion.
